Almost exactly 2000 years ago, a young man was nailed to a tree for saying how great it would be to be nice to people for a change.

We still do not appear to have learned that lesson, though far too many take pride in giving it lip service.

  One Response to “Happy Easter!”

  1. Researches about historical Jesus suppose he could be about 40 at that moment, so not extremely young. Still the story is probably one of the most touching among the books I ever read or heard. I always feel that not enough of his teachings survived and perhaps that led followers to build sometimes too complicated religions overshadowing his original ideas. It’s childish but I still wish some more manuscripts could be, perhaps, found in the nearest decades, similar to dead sea scrolls etc. And add something substantive.

My wife prepared Easter cakes, colored eggs and made cottage-chees “paskha” – I duly brought all these to small nearby church to be sprinkled with “Holy Water” and blessed by parson. Luckily we even were not lazy enough and joined night service this time. Still it somehow feels… Like we should remember JC and what he tried to teach more often :)

By the way, may I ask whether you like 1973 movie JC – Superstar, where Ted Neely performs “Gethsemane”?
