I hate to make a political point in the wake of a terrible tragedy but… I wonder if those who advocate profiling based on race, religion, and ethnicity are now in favor of subjecting young, blue-eyed, blond Christian males speaking with a Scandinavian accent to extra scrutiny.

I admit, cheap shot indeed. One I wouldn’t have made had I not been engaged just the previous day in an e-mail argument with someone who was advocating racial/ethnic/religious profiling.
Ah, well, no real harm done. Everybody needs to vent now and then, and it is, after all, *your* blog. :-)
