{"id":8046,"date":"2016-11-08T00:17:14","date_gmt":"2016-11-08T05:17:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/spinor.info\/weblog\/?p=8046"},"modified":"2016-11-08T11:42:18","modified_gmt":"2016-11-08T16:42:18","slug":"of-cats-and-presidents","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/spinor.info\/weblog\/?p=8046","title":{"rendered":"Of cats and presidents"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It was 16 years ago today (well, technically yesterday, since it is now past midnight) that our very first cat, our much loved Marzipan, a perfectly ordinary tabby housecat, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vttoth.com\/CMS\/personal\/162-marzipan-the-cat\">died<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8047\" src=\"https:\/\/spinor.info\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/marzipan.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"https:\/\/spinor.info\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/marzipan.jpg 640w, https:\/\/spinor.info\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/marzipan-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And it was also 16 years ago today that a\u00a0plurality of American voters cast their ballots for Al Gore,\u00a0who nonetheless didn&#8217;t become president, because of the way the electoral college works and the way votes were counted in the Sunshine State of Florida.<\/p>\n<p>Today, I am happy to report, none of our kittycats are in any imminent danger of dying, as they are all (as far as we know) in good health.
