{"id":5731,"date":"2014-02-15T09:42:59","date_gmt":"2014-02-15T14:42:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/spinor.info\/weblog\/?p=5731"},"modified":"2014-02-15T09:42:59","modified_gmt":"2014-02-15T14:42:59","slug":"fanni-gyarmati","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/spinor.info\/weblog\/?p=5731","title":{"rendered":"Fanni Gyarmati"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-5732\" style=\"margin-left: 5px; margin-right: 5px;\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/spinor.info\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/gyfanni-300x199.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" srcset=\"https:\/\/spinor.info\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/gyfanni-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/spinor.info\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/gyfanni.jpg 772w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>One of the many victims of fascism in Hungary was the poet <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mikl%C3%B3s_Radn%C3%B3ti\">Mikl\u00f3s Radn\u00f3ti<\/a>, murdered in November 1944 while serving in a forced labor battalion.<\/p>\n<p>Radn\u00f3ti&#8217;s wife, Fanni Gyarmati, survived the Holocaust and continued a quiet life in Budapest, in the couple&#8217;s old apartment, which bears the name of Dr. Mikl\u00f3s Radn\u00f3ti on its front door to this day.<\/p>\n<p>Astonishingly, Fanni Gyarmati lived for another 70 years following her husband&#8217;s tragic death. She passed away today, at the age of 101.<\/p>\n<p>May she rest in peace. May those who were responsible for her husband&#8217;s death never find peace.
