Every so often, I thought about buying Apple hardware, but if I did so, I&#8217;d want a development system, so my shopping cart at apple.ca rapidly ballooned to some 2,000 dollars&#8230; by which time I\u00a0inevitably realized that I&#8217;d be buying expensive toys that would become obsolete long before I&#8217;d find the time needed to become proficient with Apple&#8217;s development tools.<\/p>\n<p>And now here is an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ottawacitizen.com\/business\/Steve+Jobs+sold+conformity+hipsters\/5315316\/story.html\">interesting article<\/a>, from the Ottawa Citizen no less, elaborating on something that I felt all along: that despite its hip image, what Apple sold to the masses all along was really mediocrity.<\/p>\n<p>Of course this probably means that I am not one of the cool kids, but if that is the case, so be it&#8230; life is way too short to worry about coolness.<\/p>\n<fb:like href='https:\/\/spinor.info\/weblog\/?p=2264' send='true' layout='standard' show_faces='true' width='450' height='65' action='like' colorscheme='light' font='lucida grande'><\/fb:like>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I never thought Apple computers were hip.
