He was only 64 when he passed away, a result of a heart attack according to Wikipedia.<\/p>\n<p>I never met Padmanabhan but I have several of his books on my bookshelf, including <em>Structure Formation in the Universe<\/em> and his more recent textbook <em>Gravitation<\/em>. I am also familiar with many of his papers.<\/p>\n<p>I learned about his death just moments ago as I came across <a href=\"https:\/\/arxiv.org\/abs\/2112.09446\">a paper by him<\/a> on arXiv, carrying this comment: &#8220;Prof. T. Padmanabhan has passed away on 17th September, 2021, while this paper was under review in a journal.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/arxiv.org\/abs\/2110.03208\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-10898\" src=\"https:\/\/spinor.info\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/padmanabhan.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"260\" srcset=\"https:\/\/spinor.info\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/padmanabhan.jpg 500w, https:\/\/spinor.info\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/padmanabhan-300x156.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>What an incredible loss. The brilliant flame of his intellect, extinguished.
